Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Breckinridge County Criminal History. Visiting the website, reading its material, or using a search feature means that you accept these terms. If you disagree with any condition, do not continue using the website.

NO FCRA USE. Breckinridge County Criminal History is privately operated and has no affiliation with a local, Kentucky, or federal government agency. The website and its advertising partners do not provide services for credit decisions, employment screening, insurance underwriting, tenant evaluation, or another purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The resource helps visitors locate Kentucky criminal-record sources. It is neither a consumer reporting agency nor a private investigation business.

1. What This Website Is

Breckinridge County Criminal History is an independent, privately operated reference website. It is not connected with the Breckinridge County government, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, or any public office. It neither stores official criminal records nor submits filings, performs an official background check, or retrieves government files for a visitor.

The website identifies record custodians and access routes. Those sources include the Breckinridge County Sheriff's Office, the Kentucky Court of Justice and local Circuit Court Clerk, the Kentucky State Police Criminal Identification and Records Branch, and the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. Some pages may also connect visitors to third-party research tools. Under the Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, a public-record request must go to the public agency that holds the record. KRS 17.150 separately governs access to law-enforcement records and restricts general inspection of centralized criminal history.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using this website, you agree that you will not:

  • Use the website in violation of any local, Kentucky, or federal law
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass a person with information obtained here
  • Rely on website content for a lending, hiring, housing, or insurance decision
  • Attempt to enter restricted systems or obtain access without authorization
  • Send bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools through the website
  • Interfere with performance or prevent another visitor from using the website

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information available through this website or a linked service may not be used to intimidate, stalk, threaten, harass, or discriminate against another person. Such conduct is forbidden and may also violate the law. This restriction is especially important for the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. Registry information supports community safety and awareness. It does not authorize vigilantism, housing discrimination, employment blacklisting, or contact intended to harm or frighten a listed person. Kentucky law can impose criminal consequences for misuse.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Breckinridge County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It creates no credit report, background check, or consumer report. Its advertising partners likewise do not offer a service designed to assess a rental application, screen a job applicant, determine an insurance rate, or measure creditworthiness. You must not use this website or a linked tool to:

  • Make a decision to hire or dismiss a person
  • Evaluate an applicant for a home or rental
  • Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
  • Decide eligibility for a permit, license, or public benefit
  • Carry out any other activity controlled by the FCRA

A person who needs a legally authorized official check must use the applicable Kentucky State Police process or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Website material is general information, not legal advice. It may describe how Breckinridge County criminal records are commonly held or requested, but it cannot determine how Kentucky law applies to a specific warrant, conviction, charge, or expungement matter. Advice about an individual situation should come from a Kentucky-licensed attorney.

6. No Warranties

All content and features are supplied "as is." No warranty is made that:

  • Any item will always be complete, accurate, or current
  • The website will operate continuously or without interruption
  • Its pages will contain no error, defect, or security vulnerability
  • A partner search tool will return accurate or comprehensive results

Criminal-record status can change when charges are filed, amended, dismissed, sealed, or expunged. Reporting delays and access restrictions may also affect a result. Information presented here is not an official statement by the Breckinridge County Circuit Court Clerk, Sheriff's Office, Kentucky State Police, or another government custodian.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to court systems, sheriff pages, Kentucky agencies, legal-aid sources, or outside search services. Following one leaves this website for a service it does not manage. Breckinridge County Criminal History does not control an outside service's content, pricing, availability, or data practices and accepts no responsibility for them. Review that provider's own terms before proceeding.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, code, logos, and graphics published here belong to Breckinridge County Criminal History or the relevant content partner. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or used to create another work without prior written authorization.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Breckinridge County Criminal History is not responsible for loss or damage arising from use of the website. This limit includes harm tied to a decision based on website content or information supplied by a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold the website harmless from a claim, action, or demand caused by your use of the website or your violation of these terms. This obligation includes related costs and reasonable legal fees.

11. Governing Law

Kentucky law governs these terms, including applicable provisions of the Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, and the criminal-history access rules in KRS 17.150. A dispute connected with use of the website must be brought in a court located in Kentucky.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision becomes effective when the updated language is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be suspended, limited, or ended at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining terms continue in force. The affected provision will be narrowed only as far as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
